Me, sporting my wish-I-were-Audrey-Hepburn hair

I’m a student leader at the University of Florida in good ol’ Gainesville, Fla. In 2007, I became a member of what was then called the Reitz Union Board, or RUB for short. RUB Entertainment, as it is now called, (and yes, the name does attract some interesting followers on Twitter) is the programming arm of the Reitz Union, which serves as the UF student union. We put on free, weekly events for students including live bands, movies, lecturers, comedians and more (Oh my!)!

I decided to start this blog because when I became one of RUB Entertainment’s two vice presidents in 2008, I had no idea what I was doing. Somehow, after many bumps in the road and a few less-than-successful events, I was able to figure things out for the most part, and this year, I’m president.

The intention of this blog is to smooth out the road for my fellow student leaders at UF. I want to help new leaders learn the ropes, teach old leaders new tricks and give aspiring leaders a resource for success.

When not doing something pertaining to RUB Entertainment (read as: the other 1 percent of my time), I work on completing my journalism degree from the renowned College of Journalism and Communications. I plan on graduating (fingers crossed) in May 2010
